All of our trainees are trained to teach early reading by using a systematic synthetic phonics structure. High emphasis is given to the teaching of Early Reading that includes synthetic phonics and guided reading. Trainees begin their training before they enter school by engaging in a full day training session led by a lead practitioner from a school with an outstanding track record in phonics teaching.
Trainees then follow this in their first placement with input from their school based mentors. School based tasks will help build both confidence and expertise in all age groups.
